Ken Schmierer's Algonquin Bloody Mary
2 oz Vodka
4 oz Tomato Juice
Dash of bitters
1 and 1/2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
6 dashes Tabasco Sauce
Coarse Black Pepper
1 stick of celery
Add vodka, juice, bitters, and sauce to a shaker with ice, adding salt
and pepper to taste. Shake vigorously. Strain over ice cubes into a
highball glass and add a celery stick.
A graduate of Ellendale High School, Ken pursued a career with Payless
Shoes, becoming a store manager and finally moving through the ranks of
corporate management at the company's base in Topeka, Kansas.
After being part of a business venture that was spun off, bought
out, stirred and shaken, he semi-retired to his old hometown in North
Dakota and proceeded to contact nearly everyone who's ever lived there,
becoming an instrumental organizer of the "Five Quarters"
Quasquicentennial Celebration and All-School Reunion. People came
home for it, from all over the country.
